Kabel Oaks of Galt has been elected the 2007-2008 State FFA President.

Oaks is a member of the Grundy R-5 FFA Chapter and will represent Area 2 on the State FFA Officer Team. His parents are Brian and Kimberly Oaks. His advisor is Phillip Fox.
Oaks has served as chapter treasurer, vice president, and president of the Grundy R-5 FFA chapter and is currently president of the Area 2 FFA Association.
Oaks was his chapter’s FFA Creed speaker and advanced to state during his junior year in extemporaneous public speaking. He also placed second in the state in the Missouri Pork Association fall public speaking contest. Oaks has advanced to state each year in Career Development events, including dairy cattle judging, meat evaluation and dairy products judging. He earned a Group I rating in meat evaluation and dairy products judging.
Oaks won an area proficiency award in swine production and received his Missouri State FFA Degree during his junior year.
He has served as president in many school organizations, including student council, National Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America. He also is a member of Hi-STEP, Smokebusters, A-Plus, the academic team, Science Club and the School Health Advisory Committee. This year he serves as a class officer and as editor of the school yearbook.
Oaks plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he plans to pursue a degree in Animal Science.
Oaks will be introduced along with other members of the State Officer Team during ceremonies today at the Missouri FFA Convention in Columbia. State FFA degrees will be awarded and various contest team winners will also be recognized.
