Amanda Louise Collier, an 81-year-old resident of Mercer, died on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at her home in Mercer.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2007 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, IA. Rev. Ron Helton officiated. Burial was in the Middlepoint Cemetery, west of Mercer.
Mrs. Collier was born on Oct. 21, 1925 in Mercer County, the daughter of Thomas Martin and Veta Lavina Wright Hodges. She was a lifelong resident of Mercer County, residing on a farm west of Mercer most of her life. She had been a resident of the senior citizen housing in Mercer the past seven years.
She was married on March 8, 1942 to William Clinton “Bill” McIntosh, who preceded her in death on April 8, 1964. She was married on May 5, 1965 to Forrest Wayne “Bud” Collier, who preceded her in death on May 18, 1992.
She is survived by five sons, James McIntosh and his wife, Rhonda, of Spickard, David McIntosh and his wife, Wilma, of Mercer, Rick McIntosh and his wife, Kim, of Fair Grove, Forrest Wayne “Chip” Collier and his wife, Kristy, of North Little Rock, AR, and Dan Collier and his wife, Terri, of Nixa; one sister, Bobbi Stark of Heyburn, ID; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Robert and John Hodges; six sisters, Uarda Barritt, Naomi May, Lenora Luse, Martineau Goin, Rachel McKinney and Rose Ellen Hodges in infancy; and an infant grandson, David Shane McIntosh.
