Jay Wilcox, an 80-year-old resident of 405 E. Eighth St. in Trenton, died on Wednesday morning, April 4, 2007 at the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.
At Mr. Wilcox’s, request, the body will be cremated and no services are planned. The Slater Funeral Home of Trenton is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wilcox, was born on Jan. 8, 1927 in Tarkio, the son of Donald and Norma Jean Donley Wilcox. He attended Tarkio schools and graduated from Hutchinson High School, in Hutchinson, KS in 1944. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He graduated in 1950 from the University of Missouri in Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He went in business with his father in 1948 as owner and co-operator of Wilcox Quarries.
He was married on Nov. 19, 1950 in Trenton to Mary Margaret Huey , who survives of the home..
He is also survived by one daughter, Linda Sue, and one son, Michael Jay, both of Trenton; one granddaughter, Brandy Leann Lynn Roberts of Trenton; and two great-granddaughters, Olivia Ann and Emma Elaine both of Trenton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials have been suggested to either the Wright Memorial Hospice or Riverside Country Club. They may be left at the funeral home.
