Funeral services for Bernice Deegan will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Rev. Jennifer Jennings will officiate. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A family visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
Mrs. Deegan, a 90-year-old Trenton resident, died at 6:55 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2007 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, where she has resided since July 2006.
Mrs. Deegan was born on Nov. 5, 1916 in Odell, NE, the daughter of Charles and Mary Krueger Smith. She was raised and attended school in north central Kansas. She was married on June 3, 1935 in Washington, KS to Wilbur E. Deegan, who preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1975. They lived at Mahaska, KS until moving to Trenton in the early 1940’s.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Krohn, and her husband, Andrew, of Princeton; a son, W. Curt Deegan of Boca Raton, FL; a son-in-law, Robert Ward of St. Joseph; a sister, Madge Boeckner of Lincoln, NE; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Wilberta Ward; two sisters; and a brother.
Memorial donations may be made to the Grundy County Senior Center and left at the funeral home.
