The Rissler Elementary School PTO met Monday evening, hearing two presentations and finalizing plans for Friday’s Spring Fling.

Fourth grade instructor Laura McDonald presented information on using newspapers at home as an educational tool and Barb Cox, director of educational services in the Trenton R-9 School District presented information on the Missouri Assessment Program. Participants completed some sample MAP questions from the third and fourth grade areas. It was announced that yearbooks have been submitted to the printer, with an expected arrival date of May 17. It was agreed to pay for lunch for fourth graders at their end-of-year picnic.
The PTO will sponsor a “Spring Fling” dance from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in conjunction with the book fair and art show. Dave Burkeybile will provide music for the dance, with all Rissler students and their families invited.
