Max Elsworth Seaman, an 80-year-old resident of Gilman City, died on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007 at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia. He was a former Chillicothe resident.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007 at the Heritage Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Chillicothe.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 at the funeral home. General visitation begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
Mr. Seaman was born on Nov. 9, 1926 in Chillicothe, the son of Albert Elsworth and Evalena Hope Schaffer Seaman. He attended Chillicothe High School. He was married in Shelbyville on Nov. 26, 1948 to Alice Marie Evans, who preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 2000.
The couple farmed all their lives in the Springhill area, northwest of Chillicothe. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by three children, Max L. Seaman and his wife, Kathy, of Preston, UT, Pam Burrows and her husband, Aaron, of Gilman City and James Seaman of Mt. Moriah; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Memorials are suggested to the Wright Memorial Hospital Hospice in Trenton. They may be left at or mailed to the Heritage Funeral Home at 3141 N. Washington St., Chillicothe, MO 64601.
