The Grundy R-5 boys basketball team lost to Northwestern of Mendon on Thursday, 71-64.
The Panthers opened the game with a 22-17 lead after one quarter. At halftime, Mendon led, 35-31. Mendon outscored Grundy R-5 in the second half, 36-33.

Kyle Larson had 25 points, seven rebounds and four steals for Grundy R-5. Colby Searcy had 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Logan Jackson had 10 points and seven rebounds. Nick Lentz had 10 points and Tyler Jackson had five points, four rebounds and five assists.
The Panthers fall to 11-6 overall and will play Tri-County in the opening round of HDC Conference tournament on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Information on the girls’ game was not available. The Lady Panthers will play North Harrison on Saturday at 7 p.m.
