Paul G. “Wimpy” Wallace, a 72-year-old resident of Tindall, died on Tuesday morning, Jan. 30, 2007 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Mike Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Martin Cemetery, north of Tindall, following military graveside services by Joseph L. Norton VFW Post No. 919 of Trenton.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007 at the funeral home.
Mr. Wallace was born on July 27, 1934 in Tindall, the son of Roy George and Nora Attie Grim Wallace. He attended Tindall grade school and graduated from Trenton High School in 1953. He was a lifelong resident of the Tindall community. He served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by the Rock Island Railroad and then retired from Union Pacific Railroad in June 1996 as a foreman in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Tindall Christian Church in Tindall.
He was married on June 28, 1959 at Tindall to Bonnie Young, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two daughters, Kathy Campbell and her husband, John, of Trenton and Karen Franklin and her husband, Tony, of St. Joseph; one sister, Pauline Gilbert and her husband, Wayne, of Vista, CA; two brothers, J.D. Wallace and his wife, Scottie, of Ohatchee, AL and Ivan Wallace and his wife, Faye, of Moline, IL; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Vernon Wallace.
Memorials are suggested to the Shriner’s St. Louis Children Hospital Burn Center in St. Louis. They may be left at the funeral home.
