Charles L. “Charlie” Cox, an 81-year-old resident of Chula, died on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007 at the Plainview Cemetery at Chula.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. General visitation begins at noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Cox was born on March 26, 1925 in Chillicothe, the son of Frank and Sadie Barry Cox. He was married on Dec. 11, 1953 in Marshall to Nina G. Bowe, who preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 1969.
He was a 1942 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He was a farmer all his life in Livingston County. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by one son, David Cox and his wife, Vanessa, of Milan; three daughters, Lori Singleton of Chula, Sharon McCollum of Las Vegas, NV and Carolyn Froman of Gallatin; two brothers, Vernon Cox of Wheatland and Earl Cox of Chillicothe; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Plainview Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home at PO Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64683.
