4-H Council Elects Officers

New officers were elected during a meeting Monday evening of the Grundy County 4-H Council.

A total of 11 members, 13 leaders and two guests were present at the meeting, with the September minutes read by Kori Grogan and approved. The treasurer’s report was read by Kelli Grogan and approved.
Under new business, the embryology project, sponsored by the council, will be divided into two sessions. The council will also buy two incubators to use for back-up purposes. It was also noted that all financial transfers need to be listed with specifics in the minutes. The bank statements will be sent to the office and then to the treasurer.
Kelli Grogan read thank you notes from Tabby Glenn and Lisa Prichard and it was noted that nominations for Grundy County State Fair Farm Family are due at the March meeting.
Kori Grogan moved to hold another swim party at the Stacy Building in Princeton, with the date to be scheduled and letters sent to members. She also moved to continue holding Grundy County Career Day in the spring.
It was announced that the Regional Horse Bowl will be held on April 7. Cheryl Leffler asked for $100 to use for prizes.
The proposed 2007 budget was presented and approved and officers were elected. The new slate of officers includes: Cristin Chambers, president; Kelli Grogan, vice president; Kade Kinney, secretary; Kori Grogan, treasurer; Rebecca Tate and Ellen Stevenson, reporters; Lindsey Derry and Rebekah Capeder, historians; Sarah Higgins and Chanel Pash, photographers; Bailey Owen and Courtney Leeper, roll call; Samantha Hudson and Maria Stevenson, parliamentarian; and Madison Trump and Laramy Raymo, sentinels. The officers were installed with a plane theme being used.
It was announced that contest day is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., April 9 at the First Christian Church in Trenton.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 26 at the courthouse.
