The Trenton High School varsity boy and girls basketball teams lost to North Platte on Friday night. The THS boys lost, 61-51, and the Lady Bulldogs fell, 61-44.
Varsity Teams Drop Two At North Platte
The THS boys led 17-14 after one quarter of play, but North Platte took a 28-23 lead into halftime. The two teams played even in the third quarter, but North Platte extended the lead in the fourth to 10 points.
Kyle Hoyt led the way for TrRenton with 14 points. DeAndre Vandevender scored 12 points and Derek Miller added eight points. Mitch Gieger led North Platte with 15 points.
THS fall to 4-9 overall and will return to action on Tuesday in the Hamilton Tournament against Gallatin.
The Lady Bulldogs struggled in the first half, falling behind, 30-17. THS played better in the second half but was outscored, 31-27. Trisha Ireland led Trenton with 16 points and Kari Shiflett added 10 points.
The Lady Bulldogs fall to 6-7 overall and will play in the Hamilton Tournament tonight at 4:30 against West Platte.
