Walter Blattner, a 65-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 9:35 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home, where he had been for the last five days.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Renea Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A family visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007.
Mr. Blattner was born on July 29, 1941 in Gilman City, the son of Carl and Tressie Lovell Blattner. He was married on Nov. 1, 1981 at St. Joseph to Betty Wilkson Hicks, who survives. He drove trucks for Irvin Oil and Muff’s Warehouse.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Blattner is survived by a step-son, Billy Hicks of Waverly; two step-daughters, Peggy Hicks of Brookfield and Linda Bennett of Carrollton; a brother, Marvin Blattner of Spickard; an uncle, Howard Lovell of Pratt, KS; an aunt, Louise Beilman of Trenton; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Keith.
