The Newtown-Harris girls basketball team dropped a 51-45 decision to Novinger on Friday night in the third-place game of the Milan Tournament.

The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 13-11 first quarter lead, but fell behind at the half, 23-18. Novinger added it its advantage in the third period, leading 35-24 to start the final quarter of play.
Jessica Huffman scored 14 points to pace the Lady Tigers. Deanna Peck and Haley Reed finished the night with 10 rebounds each. Reed also had five steals while Krista Abernathy grabbed six steals.
The Lady Tigers are 8-7 overall and will travel to Gilman City on Tuesday night for an HDC Conference match-up.
The N-H boys are scheduled to play in the first-place tournament game on Wednesday night, taking on Green City.
