Grant Gets Recommendation

Two Grundy County organizations have been recommended to receive funds through the Region H Homeland Security Oversight Committee.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Department has been recommended to receive $14,318 to purchase four mobile and four portable radios. In addition, Grundy County/City of Trenton has been recommended to receive $29,353 in funding to help purchase two base stations. Other agencies from this area receiving the recommendation were the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, $12,472 to purchase eight mobile radios; the Harrison County/ City of Bethany, $10,222 to purchase two mobile radios and two portable radios; and the Mercer County EMS, $20,802 to purchase six mobile and six portable radios.
The recommendations will be presented to the Governor’s Homeland Security Advisory Council in the upcoming months, which will then make the final approval for the homeland security projects.
