Gilman Citty Takes Two Games

The Gilman City boys and girls basketball teams won two games from Southwest-Ludlow on Thursday night. The Gilman City boys had three players in double figures to defeat Southwest, 51-33, while the girls made seven of nine free throws in the fourth to beat Southwest, 32-31.

The Hawks took command of the game in the first quarter, 10-2, and led the contest throughout. Gilman City was up 36-12 at halftime and 51-25 to start the fourth quarter.
Blake Johnson had 16 points and 13 rebounds to pace the Gilman City attack. Cody Griffith and Kyle King added 10 points each. Gilman City is now 5-6 overall.
Monica Wilson led the way for the Lady Hawks with 16 points. Kyla Payne added nine points for Gilman City. The Lady Hawks improve to 6-5 overall.
The Gilman City teams next see action on Tuesday, Jan. 16, hosting Newtown-Harris for an HDC Conference match-up.
