The NJCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Poll was released today and the North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates are fifth.

NCMC was ranked fifth last week as well. North Central faces a big challenge on Friday night as the Lady Cougars of Illinois Central College come to Trenton. Illinois Central is current ranked second in the nation with a 13-4 record.
The Lady Cougars have won two of the last four national championships and have six national titles. The team has lost a pair of games to Division 1 schools and has also lost a pair of games to Kirkwood Community College, currently ranked first in Division II.
Statistically, the teams are very similar, ICC is ranked 18th in team offense and NCMC is currently 19th. The Lady Pirates are 13th in defense and the Lady Cougars are ranked third.
Friday night’s contest is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. in the KCC.
