Sixteen boys teams and fifteen girls teams are participating in the 23-game event, with action scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. today, Thursday and Friday.
Schools from Braymer, Chillicothe, Gilman City, Green City, Hale, Hardin-Central, Lafayette County at Higginsville, Lawson, Macon County at New Cambria, Monroe City, Newtown-Harris, North Mercer, Plattsburg, Princeton, Putnam County at Unionville, Richmond, Ridgeway, Trenton and Tri-County at Jamesport will compete in this year’s event.
“The Shoot-Out is such a huge marketing opportunity for the college as well as offering a tremendous economic impact to our community,” said NCMC Director of Development Steve Maxey.
College officials expect over 775 student athletes, cheerleaders, coaches, school administrators and families and fans of the individual towns to be a part of the three-day event, in addition to the local participation.
Admission to the Shoot-Out is a daily charge of $7 for adults, $5 for students (kindergarten through college), with preschoolers admitted free. This admission will be for one game or all eight games each day, with individuals allowed to come and go throughout the day for one ticket. Admission will be charged upon return for day two or day three. Neither Ketcham Community Center passes or MSTA passes will be accepted as the event is also a fund-raiser for the NCMC Foundation.
Ketcham Community Center officials have announced that the KCC will be open only from 5:30 to 9 a.m. each morning during the Shoot-Out and will resume regular hours on Saturday.
Merchants are encouraged to display welcome signs and greetings to the many fans expected to be in Trenton during the week as part of the event now considered to be one of the finest High School Basketball Shoot-Outs in the state.
