Gene Mallette, an 82-year-old resident of Newtown, died unexpectedly at his home at 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006. He was a retired long-time teacher at the Newtown-Harris School.

Mr. Mallette is survived by his wife, Pat Mallette of the home; a daughter, Teresa Daum and her husband, Denny of Newtown; three sons, Kim and his wife, Angela of Ft. Worth, TX, Kirk and his wife, Debbie of Unionville, and Kent and his wife, Julia of Webster Groves; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
