Raymond McCrary, a 91-year-old resident of the Indian Hills Retirement Village in Chillicothe, died on Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 at the retirement village.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will be in the Meadville Cemetery.
There is no scheduled family visitation. General visitation begins at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006 and continues until 9 p.m. and will also be from 8 a.m. to service time on Thursday.
Mr. McCrary was born on Jan. 3, 1915 in Linn County, the son of Nelson and Lea Grimes McCrary. He was a 1933 gradaute of Purdin High School He was married on Nov. 27, 1935 at Brookfield to Carolee Fleming, who preceded him in death on Feb. 16, 2004.
Mr. McCrary had worked as a farmer from 1935 to 2003, when he relocated to the retirement village. He spent all of his life in the Chula community. He was a member of the Alpha Baptist Church at Chula.
He is survived by one son, Jim McCrary and his wife, Carole, of Canton, IL: one sister, Naomi Gilmore and her husband, Gene, of Carlsbad, NM; three grandchildren, Wendy McCrary of West Palm Beach, FL, Robin Severs and her husband, Rick, of Macomb, IL, and Michael McCrary and his wife, Robyn, of Springfield, OH; and four great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Paige McCrary of Springfield and Grant and Nick Severs of Macomb.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
