R-6 and Chula Boards Meet
R-6 Superintendent Brian Robinson said the board reviewed a facilities analysis performed by Mid-America Facility Solutions of Lone Jack, which shows areas of improvement in safety, energy and function that could be made throughout the school. Overall, the analysis was very encouraging, Robinson said, showing the school to be well maintained. The board also reviewed policy updates and the annual school report card, which is available at the school and on the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education website. Robinson said the school Christmas program will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the school gym and that Christmas break will be held from Dec. 22 through Jan. 2, with classes resuming on Jan. 3. Dec. 21 is being used as a weather make-up day, with classes to be dismissed at 1:20 p.m.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, which is a change in the regular meeting date.
Chula Administrator Sara Littrell provided information noting that the board voted to extend the school year by one day, making the final day of classes May 17. The change was made to due to recent snow days.
