Maxine Logan, a 90-year-old resident of Princeton, died on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton. Pastor Robin Banion will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Lineville, IA.
Open visitation begins today at the funeral home. There is no scheduled family visitation.
Mrs. Logan was born on Jan. 7, 1916 in Clio, IA, the daughter of Pearl Ernest and Eva Ethel Bracewell Shaw. She was raised in the Clio and Allerton, IA, communities and graduated from Allerton High School. After graduation, she worked on the family farm with her father and even had her own tractor. She joined the Clio United Methodist Church at an early age. She taught Sunday school classes and Bible study groups at several churches. She was a member of the Princeton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing craft projects and was gifted at the sewing machine.
Mrs. Logan was married on Sept. 3, 1957 to Porter Neil Logan, who preceded her in death on April 17, 1997. They made their home on a farm south of Lineville until 1971, when they moved to Mercer and then moved to Kansas City in 1993 due to her husband’s health. Mrs. Logan returned to Mercer County in March 2001 to make her home at Princeton.
She is survived by cousins and other distant relatives and friends.
