The following cases were heard by Judge Thomas O. Pickett in the absence of Judge Hudson.
Patrick L. McPherson, 28, 502 Jackson St., waived his preliminary hearing and had his case bound over to Division I on a charge of first degree robbery. Trial-setting was scheduled for Dec. 14 at 9 a.m.
Pleading guilty to speeding and fined $32.50 and $56.50 costs were Jessica N. Henness, 18, Spickard, and Rory P. Moran, 24, Kirksville.
William W. Goughenour, 59, Nixa, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $22.50 and $56.50 costs.
Ronald L. Miller, 29, St. Joseph, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner by racing another vehicle. Imposition of his sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for 30 days. He was ordered to successfully complete the Drive to Survive program, pay $300 restitution to the Grundy County Law Enforcement Fund and $56.50 costs.
Debbie K. Vandevender, 50, 4310 E. 10th St., pleaded guilty to an amended charge of failing to drive on the right half of the roadway and was fined $200 and $56.50 costs. Her original charge was operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner by driving off the roadway, striking a ditch and overturning.
Danielle M. Gillihan, 17, 2601 Willow Rd., pleaded guilty, pursuant to a plea agreement, to operating a motor vehicle on the highway while her license was suspended. Imposition of her sentence was suspended and she was placed on unsupervised probation for two years. She was ordered to pay $200 restitution to the Grundy County Law Enforcement Fund and $56.50 costs. She is also to provide proof of insurance to the prosecuting attorney’s office every six months. The case was moved to Grundy County from Mercer County on a change of venue.
Shawn E. Ferguson, 18, 907 Rural St., had charges of passing bad checks dismissed and was ordered to pay restitution on all checks by the close of business on Tuesday, which he did.
Drake W. Brown, 32, Route 5, had a deferred prosecution agreement filed on a charge of driving while intoxicated, which was then dismissed.
Timothy R. Wood, 48, Carl Junction, had three counts of non-support dismissed, one count reduced to a misdemeanor and had the misdemeanor and two other counts bound over to Division I . His next court appearance is Jan. 11.
Heather Shuler, 21, 71216 Forest, pleaded guilty, pursuant to a plea agreement, to driving with excessive blood alcohol content. She was fined $500, $104.50 costs and $10 to the Crime Victim’s Compensation Fund. She is also to pay $60 recoupment of funds and serve 48 hours in the Grundy County Jail. Her original charge was driving while intoxicated.
Christine Mason, 30, Humphreys, pleaded guilty to passing bad checks and was fined $100, $104.50 costs and $10 to the CVCF. She is also to pay restitution of $76.32 to the prosecuting attorney.
Benjamin Pratt, 33, Spickard, and Rhonda Pratt, 31, Spickard, had deferred prosecution agreements filed on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, which were dismissed.
Terry Roberts, 22, 208 E. 10th Ct., paid restitution to the prosecuting attorney’s office in the amount of $130.14 and $74.50 costs toward costs owed on a conviction for passing bad checks, with a balance of $140 remaining. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department for 14 days in lieu of the costs still owed.
Damon W. Buss, 32, 1702 Chicago St., pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and was fined $150, $104.50 costs and $10 to the CVCF.
Associate Civil
Wright Memorial Hospital vs. Genie Buzzard. The case, which involved a suit on account, was dismissed.
