The Trenton Middle School girls basketball team captured the championship of the Brookfield Tournament on Friday night, defeating Salisbury, 36-30.

Trenton outscored Salisbury in three overtimes, 11-5, to get the win. Rebekah Capeder led Trenton with 13 points. Halie Brewer scored 10 points, Lindsay Derry scored nine points and Chelsea McCollum added four points. Coach Quentin Albrecht said the girls showed “tremendous determination,” being down at the half but fighting back for the win.
The girls are 9-1 and will host Carrollton on Tuesday night.
