Princeton City Clerk Keri Stamper said Kurt Meighen was sworn in as the councilman from the north ward, replacing Dee Hobbs, who resigned due to moving from the city limits. The council met with Mick Parkhurst of Eagleville, who was given permission to rent city property at a cost of $500 annually for a 10-year period. Parkhurst will place advertising signs on the property, pending approval of the agreement by the city attorney. The council announced a public hearing will be held by the Department of Natural Resources from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Friday at city hall. The hearing will allow elected officials and members of the public to discuss concerns with the DNR. The next regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m., Jan. 4.
While no information was available concerning action taken at the Spickard City Council meeting, City Clerk DeeAnn Olson said the council had planned to set the filing dates for the April election as Dec. 12 through Jan. 16, 2007. The terms of Mayor Bob Darby and Councilman Ricky Crawford will expire. The Spickard Council is scheduled to meet again Jan. 2.
