The Grundy County Health Department Board of Trustees has voted to make the health department a tobacco-free campus.

The policy, which goes into effect Jan. 1, 2007, expands on the existing tobacco-free policy to include all health department property. The policy will apply to all employees and visitors of the Grundy County Health Department. The ban does extend to the community room, located on the lower level of the health department.
“We’ve been encouraging the schools we work with to implement a tobacco-free campus,” said Health Educator Molly Long. “It seemed like we should follow suit.”
