Paul Victor Johnson, a 91-year-old resident of Clio, IA, died on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006 at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, IA.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, IA. Rev. Gary Klaiber and Rev. Jesse Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in the Clio Cemetery.
Open visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 at the funeral home. A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 o’clock on Thursday evening.
Mr. Johnson was born on Dec. 5, 1914 in Decatur County, IA, the son of George Oliver and Orpha Frederica Lentz Johnson. He was raised in Decatur County and attended the Grant Rural School. He was married on March 5, 1934 in Leona, IA, to Nellie Mae Waddle, who preceded him in death on April 13, 1992. He and his wife farmed southeast of the Little Red Schoolhouse, north of Lineville, from 1950 until his retirement in 1975. They then moved to Clio.
He attended the Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Marylin Osborne and her husband, Gary, of Clio and Iva Mae Ragan and her husband, Jack, of Kirbyville; two sons, Carrol Johnson and his wife, Dottie, of Mercer, and John Johnson and his wife, Dianna, of Lacona, IA; a son-in-law, Gordon Page of Pocahontas, IA; a sister-in-law, Ocie Petty of Leon; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son, George Oliver Johnson; a daughter, Fleeta Faye Page; a brother, George Oka Johnson; and three sisters, Sarah Jane Petty, Della Beavers and Forrest McCarty.
