Garnett D. McLallen, a 96-year-old Galt resident, died at 11:08 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, where she was admitted on Friday, Nov. 10, 2006.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 at Payne Funeral Home in Galt. Burial will be in the Galt West Cemetery.
Open visitation will begin Saturday afternoon, Nov. 18, 2006.
Mrs. McLallen was born on May 12, 1910 in Grundy County, the daughter of Sanford William and Naomi Lucille Cox Campbell. She was married on Jan. 23, 1936 to William Harry Sampson, who preceded her in death July 1, 1959. She was remarried on June 20, 1961 to Claud McLallen, who preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1975. Mrs. McLallen had been a member of the Berry Church, north of Galt, and attended the Galt Baptist Church for the past several years.
Surviving relatives include a son, Harry Sampson, and his wife. Sandra, of Galt; a daughter, Dottie Reim of Trenton; two brothers, Russell Campbell of Galt and Agell Campbell and his wife, Midge, of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; three brothers, Hugh, Buster and Harold; two sisters, Maxine and Nadine; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Sampson; and two grandchildren, Steven and Kristy.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Galt Baptist Church.
