A departure ceremony for 53 members of the Missouri National Guard’s Battery B of the 1st Battalion, 129th Field Artillery and Detachment 1 of the 1128th Forward Support Company will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12 at the Chillicothe Armory.

The soldiers are being deployed with the 129th Field Artillery and will join the advance party that departed Chillicothe in October to receive training at Ft. Dix, NJ. Approximately 150 soldiers from units at Trenton, Chillicothe, Maryville, Albany, Independence, Marshall and Richmond will be deployed for the mission, with a possible destination of Afghanistan.
Other departure ceremonies are planned in Independence and Richmond on Nov. 11 and in Albany on Nov. 12.
