A car was destroyed in a fire Tuesday night near the car wash on Hoover Drive.
According to the Trenton Fire Department, they were called out at about 1:12 a.m., responding to a car fire at the car wash. They found the vehicle, an Intrepid, on fire. According to the Trenton Police Department, the vehicle had been involved in a motor vehicle accident in September at the intersection of 28th Street and Highway 65 and was totaled. The owner, Kristen Berry of Holt’s Summit, had left the vehicle near the car wash. Firefighters were on the scene until about 2 a.m.
Trenton Fire Chief Tony Ralston said the origin of the fire, which destroyed the vehicle, was suspicious in nature.
