The Princeton Tigers football team lost to South Harrison on Friday night, 21-7. The Tigers turned the ball over seven times, including five interceptions.
Princeton Falls To South Harrison
Princeton’s lone score came in the second quarter when Mace Orsmsby returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown. South Harrison tied the game before halftime on a 13-yard run by Matt Higley.
Tommy Pettijohn caught a 65 yard touchdown pass from Matt Shipers in the third quarter, giving South Harrison the lead. The extra point failed and the score was 13-7. South Harrison put the game away in the fourth quarter when Shipers returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown. The Bulldogs added the two-point conversion and won the game by 14 points.
Princeton finished with 156 yards of total offense. Michael Ormsby rushed for 68 yards on 21 carries. PHS quarterback Troy Meinke was 3-of-16 passing for 75 yards and threw five interceptions. Shipers of South Harrison finished 6-of-13 for 138 yards, a touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for 41 yards on eight carries.
Princeton falls to 5-4 overall, 5-2 in the GRC and 1-1 in Class 1, District 9 play. South Harrison improves to 7-2 overall, 6-1 in the GRC and 1-1 in District 9 play.
The Tigers wrap-up the season on Friday against Gallatin at 7 p.m.
