David R. Thomas, a 57-year-old resident of 208 Kitty St. in Trenton, died on Friday morning, Oct. 27, 2006 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, 2006 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton. Bro. Robert Burkeybile officiated. Burial was in the Willis Chapel Cemetery, north of Brimson.
Mr. Thomas was born on June 29, 1949 in Trenton, the son of Harry Clarence “Whistle” and Margaret Elizabeth Endicott Thomas. He graduated in 1967 from Trenton High School. He was a lifelong resident of the Trenton area. He was employed by the Grundy Electric Cooperative in Trenton for 38 years, retiring in May 2005 as a meter tech.
He was married on May 24, 1985 at Princeton to Marjorie Ann Focken, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by one son, Justin Thomas of the home; one step-daughter, Danya Adair of Truro, IA; two step-sons, Perry Stark of Indianola, IA and Vance Gannon of Dallas, TX; one sister, Kathy Suiter of Columbus, NE; one brother, Paul Thomas of Trenton; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lois Thomas; and one brother, James. Thomas.
