– All-Time Defensive Lineman: Week Eight –
Readers Select Andy Hill
Editor’s Note: Each week, the Republican-Times will review a specific position on the all-time THS Football Team that was included as part of the 2006 fall sports special section. Readers are asked to nominate individuals they think should also be included on that list. Readers will also be able to vote on those nominees in a poll appearing on the Republican-Times website (www.republican-times.com). A review of the suggestions will be published as part of the THS weekly football preview on Thursdays.

The totals are in for last week’s poll for the all-time best wide receiver/tight end in Trenton High School history. We received 101 votes this week. After some consideration, I decided to keep three wide receivers and two tight ends. Not making the list at wide receiver was Bryan Figg with one vote. Tight ends that came up short were Kerry Lowrey, one vote; Kevin McKeehan with two votes; Jamie Stephens with four votes; and Brian Dittberner with six votes.
Our two tight ends are Max Dean, 1954, and Richard Griffith, 1966. Dean finished with seven votes while Griffith finished third overall in the voting with 15 votes.
Making the list as wide receivers were Marti Gooch, 1979, with seven votes and Chad Richman, 2002, with 20 votes.
Of course that leaves, Andy Hill, 1979, as our reader’s choice all-time receiver. The THS standout’s versatility proved too much for the readers to ignore. Hill, as we all know, went on to play receiver at the University of Missouri, where he is now an assistant coach.
