NCMC Women’s Basketball Team Ranked 10th In Preseason Poll

College basketball is slated to get under way two weeks from today on Nov. 1 and the North Central Missouri College women’s basketball team has been ranked 10th in the preseason NJCAA Division II poll.

The Lady Pirates finished last season with a 23-8 record. Kirkwood Community College of Cedar Rapids, IA is ranked first in the poll. Other top 10 teams include Schoolcraft College, Livona MI; Illinois Central College, East Peoria; Carl Sandburg College, Galesburg, IL; Kalamazoo Valley Community College, Kalamazoo, MI; Des Moines Area College, Boone, IA; Genesee Community College, Batavia, NY; Johnson County Community College, Overland Park, KS; and Gogebic Community College, Ironwood, MI.
The Lady Pirates will host Graceland University’s junior varsity on Monday in a scrimmage. The contest will begin at 7 p.m. at the Ketcham Community Center. NCMC will be at Truman State University for a scrimmage on Friday, Oct. 27 and will be at the Grandview Jamboree on Saturday, Oct. 28.
The NCMC men travel to Moberly Community College for their preseason warm-up on Friday, Oct. 27.
The NCMC men and women will host William Penn University’s junior varsity in the season opener on Nov. 1. The women’s game begins at 5:30 p.m. and the men play at 7:30 p.m.
