The program features local band White Water, with Duane Simmons, Tim and Jamie Dunagan, Todd Young and Betty Hemenway. In addition, special guests Terri Henry and J.R. Love are also scheduled to perform.
Tickets are $7 at the door. The Wright Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will have refreshments available.
The White Water Band has performed at each of the five music shows held at the senior center and the band is also a regular at the monthly dances held at the center. Simmons is in his 55th year in the music business and provides the lead vocals for the band, which got its start in 1983. The Dunagans, who play lead guitar and drums for the band, also have their own opry show in Old Pattonsburg, where they perform the first and third Saturday night of each month except for January and February. Young is a long-time music performer and is the bass player for the band as well as operating the “Young Country Show” at Laredo. Ms. Hemenway plays piano, guitar and bass and has worked with several bands throughout the years.
Love has been involved in the music industry for several years, beginning as a bass guitarist with the Printers Alley Band. He has played and sang on several opry shows and was inspired to sing country and gospel music by listening to the Grand Ole Opry and watching Hee-Haw as well as listening to such superstars as George Jones, Charley Pride, Mickey Gilley, Elvis, George Strait, Ray Price and Merle Haggard. He had his own band, The Country Sensations, and was a regular performer at the Cannon Dam Opry in Perry.
Ms. Henry has been involved in music events for over 15 years, playing the piano and signing gospel with the group, “Abundant Grace.” She has performed at several opry shows, including Young Country at Laredo.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., with a pre-show program at 6:30 p.m. featuring dancers from the Super Stars Dance Studio. The music program will begin at 7 p.m. and continue until 11 p.m.
