He was married on Feb. 21, 1943 at Galt to Bernice Green, who survives of the Sunnyview Nursing Home. After their marriage they lived on farms in the Galt community until they purchased the family farm just west of Galt in 1950. They resided there until 2002. In addition to raising cattle on the farm, he owned and operated Fulkerson Locker in Galt for 25 years. After selling the business, he began employment at the Payne Funeral Home in Galt in 1975 and retired as a funeral director with the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in 2002. He also sold Pioneer Seed for many years.
He was a member of the Galt Methodist Church; was a charter member of the Galt Lions Club, where he had perfect attendance for 41 years; served on the Galt School Board, the Galt Fire Department and the Galt Senior Citizens Housing Board; was a 4-H leader and a member of the PTA all the years his daughters attended school at Galt.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Marsha, now Mrs. Ray Test of Lee’s Summit and Nancy, now Mrs. Charles May of Peculiar; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
