The Grundy County Commission agreed to close a road in Myers Township during its meeting held today at the courthouse.

The commission took the action after a petition had been presented to close a portion of Northeast 65th Avenue. Everett Cunningham and Darrell Cunningham were present to discuss the petition.
In other business, the commission met with Trenton Police Chief Bob Lewis to discuss a Homeland Security Grant, which may help fund new 911 equipment, and met with Larry Hedley, administrator of the Daviess/DeKalb Detention Center. Hedley discussed operating procedures at that facility.
