Funeral services for Ada F. Wingate will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home of Trenton. Rev. Ron Ratliff will officiate. Burial will be in the Edinburg IOOF Cemetery.
There is a family visitation scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wingate, an 82-year-old resident of Broken Arrow Nursing Home in Broken Arrow, OK, died at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at the nursing home.
Mrs. Wingate was born on Oct. 15, 1923 in Spickard, the daughter of Seth and Rosa Roberts Griffin. She was married in Kansas City on Jan. 7, 1951 to Neal Wingate, who preceded her in death on March 17, 1999.
She taught in several schools in the Trenton area for 46 years. She moved to Oklahoma 12 years ago to be near her son. She was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church and the Joseph L. Norton VFW Post 919 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her son, Kirt Wingate, and his wife, Judy, of Broken Arrow; and one grandson, Gibb Wingate of Tulsa, OK.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, John William, Gilbert, Dale, Clyde and Junior Griffin; and one sister, Hyldred Burress
