A letter has been sent to area residents offering shares of stock for sale at a cost of $25 per share. The number of shares that can be purchased is unlimited, however, individuals are being encouraged to purchase shares in blocks of four and business and industry to purchase larger blocks.
The letter notes that the IDC was able to purchase property in the north part of town following its formation in 1959 through the share of stock. The industrial park is now the home of Modine Manufacturing, Trickel Construction, Trenton Coca-Cola, Global Instruments, New Hope Industries and its warehousing space as well as the Muff Logistics Center. There is only one viable lot remaining in the industrial park, which has prompted the IDC to conduct the fund-raising effort.
Persons wanting to purchase a share may contact the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce office, which takes care of IDC records. Checks are to be made payable to the Grundy County IDC and can be mailed to 617 Main St., Trenton, MO 64683. Vic Walker is the president of the IDC. Board members include Chris Hoffman, Wendell Lenhart, Bob Gallup, Tom Witten, Gary Black Steve Busch, Rick Klinginsmith, Diane Raynes, Doug Dible, Scott Wilson, Troy Smith, Scott Forman, Jackie Soptic, Kerry Sampson and ex-officios directors from North Central Missouri College, Wright Memorial Hospital, Modine Manufacturing and ConAgra Foods.
