Margaret Mae Chaput, a 78-year-old resident of Princeton, died on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006 at her home in Princeton.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, Sept. 22, 2006 at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, VA, under the direction of the Altmeyer Funeral Home in Virginia Beach, VA. An open visitation begins at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton.
Mrs. Chaput was born on Sept. 7, 1928 in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Perry and Daizy Zordel Button. He was married on Nov. 21, 1959 to Robert Francis “Chappie” Chaput, who preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1987.
She was raised and attended schools in Des Moines. She lived most of her adult life in Norfolk, where she worked as a manager/supervisor of a restaurant. She had been a resident of Princeton the past nine years.
She is survived by one brother, Raymond Button of Butner, NC; three nephews, David Graham of Galesburg, IL, Lester Graham of Osceola, IA and Steve Graham of Ottumwa, IA; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Marie Haley; a sister, June Graham; and a brother-in-law, Donald Graham.
