Director of Development Steve Maxey says this year’s event promises to be just as exciting and entertaining as those in past.
A “Pirate Party” is the theme of the 2006 event and Maxey said that the change in the date is a big change as requested by many attendees.
“The gala has always been on the Saturday night of the Missouri Day Festival, but many folks asked that the college function be moved forward a week due to the hectic weekend of Missouri Day,” Maxey said
Maxey said the college foundation committee agreed to move the event, hoping that more local folks who are heavily involved in Missouri Days would be able to attend the gala and enjoy two special week-ends back to back.
The 6:30 p.m. affair will again be held in the Ketcham Community Center and will include a delicious sit-down dinner, live entertainment and the recognition of the Distinguished Alumni honorees and major gift contributors to the college’s fund raising campaign from the past year.
Attendees will have the option to choose between grilled salmon or glazed Cornish game hen for the main entree with a large menu of additional fine dining offered.
“The gala is open to the general public and not just alumni of Trenton Junior College or North Central Missouri College” said Maxey. “And we encourage the entire region to see this event as a special night out filled with fine dining, entertainment, the recognition of honored guests and lots of socializing centered around the excitement of our growing community college.”
Reservations are required and the cost is $35 per person. Honorees and special entertainment details will be announced as the event draws nearer.
Reservations may be made by contacting the NCMC Develop-ment Office at 359-3948, ext. 415.
