Items on the announced agenda include committee reports, a public hearing to set the 2006 tax levy, an ordinance allowing Peter Trombley a six-inch fence height variance to construct a fence over six feet tall at 211 W. 12th St., an ordinance setting the 2006 tax levy, an ordinance prohibiting certain dog breeds within the city of Trenton (see more information below), an ordinance allowing for expansion of the Building and Nuisance Board from five members to seven, an ordinance prohibiting certain exotic or wild animals, an ordinance calling for a special election on a revenue bond question for Trenton Municipal Utilities, a resolution establishing a procedure to disclose potential conflicts of interest and substantial interest for certain officials, and a resolution authorizing the Board of Public Works to enter into an agreement for Professional Engineering services with Larkin Group, Inc. for the water line replacement project in the Scott and Haddox Addition. An execution session will be held to discuss a real estate issue.
City Clerk Cindy Simpson said the ordinance concerning the prohibition of certain dog breeds specifically names Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Chows, Akitas and Doberman Pinschers. It would allow for any dog that is already registered in the city on or before Aug. 31 to remain, but no new dogs of these breeds would be allowed. Copies of the ordinance are available on the front counter at City Hall.
