Vera Laveta Harris, a 98-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Sunday, July 30, 2006 at the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton, where she had been a patient since July 20, 2006.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Wheeling Cemetery at Wheeling.
There is no scheduled family visitation. General visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006 and from 8 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harris was born on Aug. 27, 1907 in Wheeling, the daughter of Lester Leroy and Bertha Laird Arthaud. She was married on July 12, 1926 in Hale to James Spencer Harris, who preceded her in death on May 19, 1963.
She was a lifelong resident of the Wheeling and Trenton areas.
She is survived by one son, Donald Harris and his wife, Mary Ann, of Trenton; one daughter, Charlotte Peyton of Trenton; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two-great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
