Charles E. Loyd, a 77-year-old resident of Jamesport, died on Sunday morning, July 30, 2006 at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006 at the Tenth Street Baptist Church in Trenton. Rev. Stan Rushton will officiate. Burial will be at the Humphreys Cemetery in Humphreys.
A family visitation will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mr. Loyd was born on Nov. 20, 1928 in Unionville, the son of Elmer and Ann Pearl King Lloyd. He attended Putnam County rural schools. He lived at Pollock until 1940, when he moved to the Humphreys area, where he was a farmer and a crop adjuster. After he retired he moved to Jamesport in 1994.
He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Galt Baptist Church and was a born-again Christian.
He was married on Oct. 20, 1947 in Trenton to Betty J. Clem, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Jeanie Ingraham and her husband, Stan, of Plattsburg; two sons, Gary Loyd and his wife, Neva, of Trenton and Larry Loyd and his wife, Mona, of Laredo; nine grandchildren, Lisa Costello, Carrie Cox, Shannon Loyd, Jeff Ingraham, Sherry Vandevender, Steven Loyd, Craig Loyd, Kaleb Shiflett and Kari Shiflett; nine great-grandchildren, Aaron Smith, Jacey Loyd, Dalton Loyd, Jena Loyd, Cody Nye-Ingraham, Issac Ingraham, Gage Vandevender, Brycin Loyd and Zoie Costello; one sister, Maxine Morlan of St. Charles; one brother, Edward Loyd of Unionville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clarence Lloyd, Everett Lloyd and Harold Lloyd; and one brother-in-law, Melvin Morlan.
The family suggests memorials to the Humphreys Cemetery or to the donor’s choice. They may be left at or mailed to the Slater Funeral Home.
