Sonja A. Mattson, a 95-year-old resident of Leisure Lake, died at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton, where she had been a resident since June 22, 2006.

Sonja A. Mattson, a 95-year-old resident of Leisure Lake, died at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton, where she had been a resident since June 22, 2006.
A general visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2006 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home at Trenton Burial will be at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery at Rocky Hill, CT.
Mrs. Mattson was born on May 12, 1911 in Sweden, the daughter of August Ostergreen and Jenny Johanson. She moved to the United States at the age of 16. She was married on May 20, 1950 in Connecticut to Carl T. Mattson, who preceded her in death on May 20, 1988. She lived most of her life in West Hartford, CT, where she worked as a nurse in nursing homes and home health care. She moved to Trenton in 1993.
She is survived by one daughter, Sally Mattson of Trenton; two sons, Sivert Jacobson of Bristol, CT and Lennart Jacobson of Wallingford, CT; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Karlson; and one grandson, Avery Goodrow.
