Kermit Dewayne Terry, a 54-year-old resident of Newton, IA, died on Thursday morning, June 29, 2006 at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
The body was cremated and funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 3, 2006 at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be held at a later time.
Mr. Terry was born on Aug. 3, 1951 in Missouri, the son of Gradey and Zelma Harrison Terry. He was a graduate of Trenton High School. He was married in Colfax, IA on June 15, 1984 to Mary Hanson, who survives of Newton. He worked for 23 years at Progress Industries in Newton, retiring on June 21, 2006. He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating birdwatching and sightseeing. He was also a historian on Recessive Dystrophic Epedermolysis Bullosa disease, from which he died. He had received the Client of the Year Award in 1986 and Staff of the Year Award in 1989, both from Progress Industries.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Zelma Terry of Trenton; three brothers, Lonnie Keith Terry and his wife, Rita, of Jamesport, Larrie Terry and his wife, Lita, of Gilman City, and Stevie Terry of Missouri; five sisters, Norine Raymo and her husband, Larry, of Jamesport, his twin Kathy Chambers and her husband, Gerald of Independence, Gale Pettit and her husband, Roger, of Trenton, Susan Eads and her husband, Gary, of Spickard and Beverly Ford and her husband, Michael, of Sparta; a sister-in-law, Laura Hanson of Newton; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great nephews. He is also survived by his three Chihuahuas, Dimples, Pebbles and Lisa.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a great-nephew, Indy Raymo.
