The Trenton Acting Guild’s summer play, “Love Thy Neighbor,” is a comedy about a householder’s worst nightmare – terrible newcomers who ruin the neighborhood.

Kristie L. Lewis, Ann Sampson and Gary Peterson, all of Trenton, play new neighbors who decorate their yard with pink flamingos, a perpetual yard sale and a disabled car.

Ms. Lewis, in her TAG debut, plays Bambi, a silent, but seductive Daisy Mae character. She is a service assistant at Sunnyview Nursing Home. She has performed in school and church plays and with Starbiz Entertainment. She loves acting, watching NASCAR, playing cards and traveling, having been to Mexico. Her husband is Orville S. Purscell.

Mrs. Sampson plays Gafina, Bambi’s sister, a hillbilly who wants to be her new neighbor’s best friend. Unfortunately, Gafina grows bigger and better flowers than her neighbor, creating a fierce rivalry. Mrs. Sampson is the librarian at North Central Missouri College and is married to City Administrator Kerry Sampson . They have one son, John. Mrs. Sampson, a self-proclaimed “HGTV addict,” has played the Wicked Stepmother in “Cinderella,” Charlotte in “Moon over Buffalo,” Zora in “Inspecting CaroI” and Mrs. Piper, the title character, in “Busybody.” Her hobbies include reading and watching movies.

Gary Peterson portrays the rude and crude Turner, who is enamored of his neighbor, a woman who thinks he’s a possible serial killer. Peterson is a complex manager for Premium Standard Farms. He is a TAG veteran who has performed in more than 25 plays. Peterson has “always enjoyed the challenge of getting into the character that he is portraying.” When not rehearsing for performances, he enjoys woodworking, tennis, flying and crossword puzzles.

The comedy will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on June 29-30 and July 1 at the Hoover Theatre in the Grundy County-Jewett Norris Library. Tickets are $5 in advance for the show only. Tickets for the play will be $8 at the door.
