Lee Albert Henry Morgan, an 89-year-old resident of Cameron, died at a nursing home in Cameron on Friday, June 16, 2006.

The body was cremated. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today (Monday, June 19, 2006) at the Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. Burial was in the Rosehill Cemetery at Breckenridge with military honors provided by the Hamilton American Legion Post No. 285.

Mr. Morgan was born on Oct. 19, 1916 in Ohiowa, NE, the son of Lewis E. and Minnie A. Hopkins Morgan. He was a self-employed farmer and heavy equipment machine operator and mechanic for the Gomer Township in Caldwell County. He served in the Army during World War II, serving under Gen. George S. Patton in the 961st Field Artillery Battalion at the Battle of Normandy. He also served in Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe and received a Normandy medal.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Ohiowa and a former member of the Hamilton American Legion Post No. 285.

He was married on March 19, 1946 in Chicago, IL to Eleanor Montross, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by one daughter, Martha S. Walker of Cameron; one son, Chester L. Morgan of Trenton; one sister, Hazel Stack of Gravois Mills; one brother, Roy L.E. Morgan of Ashland, NE; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one niece.

The family suggests memorials to the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cameron.
