Betty Stottlemyre Simpson Searcy, a 77-year-old resident of Carrollton, died at 10:10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at the North Kansas City Hospital.

Betty Stottlemyre Simpson Searcy, a 77-year-old resident of Carrollton, died at 10:10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at the North Kansas City Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Rev. Timothy Munday will officiate. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.

A visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at the mortuary.

Mrs. Searcy was born on April 12, 1929 in Spickard, the daughter of Glenn and Coroline Cornwell Stottlemyre. She was raised and attended school at Spickard. She was married on March 24, 1946 to John Simpson, who preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1991. They lived in the Chula area. She was married on May 16, 1992 to Gerald Searcy, who preceded her in death in May of 1993.

Mrs. Searcy was on the board of the Carrollton Senior Center as well as a member of the Chilly Campers and the Rainbow Club.

She is survived by four sons, Benny Simpson and his wife, Beverly, of Chula, William Simpson and his wife, Sue, of St. Joseph, Randall Simpson and his wife, Pat, of Lexington, and John Allan Simpson and his wife, Sandy, of Chillicothe; three daughters, Telpha Standley and her friend, Wayne Heuman, of Slater, Nancy Orear and her husband, Tim, of Grand Pass and Nilia Horne and her husband, Kenny, of Independence; two step-sons, Ronnie Searcy and his wife, Rosemary, of Chula, and Rex Searcy and his wife, Leann, of Hickory; one brother, J.R. Stottlemyre of Trenton; 36 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two step-sons,Randy and Roger Searcy; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Stottlemyre; and a great-granddaughter, Gwyneth Standley.

Memorials are suggested to the Chula Community Center or the Carrollton Senior Center.
