Funeral services for Dorothy L. Brown will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2006 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A visitation will begin at the mortuary one hour prior to the services.
Mrs. Brown, an 86-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 11:55 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2006 at Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.
Mrs. Brown was born on Feb. 2, 1920 near Sturgeon in Boone County, the daughter of James Henry and Esther Long Turner. She graduated from Sturgeon High School. She was married at Carrollton on Sept. 29, 1940 to Harold E. Brown, who preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1984. They lived all their married lives in the Trenton area. Mrs. Brown was first employed at the Grand River Press for 12 years before she owned and operated Brown’s Dress Shop for over 22 years. In addition to the dress shop, she assisted her husband in the operation of the Cisco Brown Drug Store and in their farming operation.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton.
She is survived by a nephew, James Turner of Potomac Falls, VA.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Nancy Lou Brown.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Hatton Chapel United Methodist Church.
