Funeral services for Ray Eugene Shockey will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Tenth Street Baptist Church in Trenton. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.

Funeral services for Ray Eugene Shockey will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Tenth Street Baptist Church in Trenton. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.

A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton.

Mr. Shockey, a 64-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2006 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, where he had been a patient since Tuesday, May 9, 2006.

Mr. Shockey was born on Aug. 8, 1941 in Trenton, the son of Wilbur and Josephine Gibler Shockey. He attended Trenton schools and graduated from Trenton High School. After high school he was employed by Western Union for several years and was later employed as a car salesman in the Kansas City area before moving back to Trenton 12 years ago.

He was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church in Trenton.

Survivors include his mother, Josephine Shockey of Trenton; two daughters, Shelli, now Mrs. Jeff Dick of Olathe, KS, and Sherri, now Mrs. Tim Meaux of Paola, KS; two sisters, Judy, now Mrs. Mel Chaffee of Trenton and Janice Shockey of Platte City; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his fiancee, Mary Ann Allen of Trenton.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Tenth Street Baptist Church.
